The persons case is a case that the Famous Five got involved in because one of the members was told they shouldn't be a judge because women are not considered persons under the law. The Famous Five, five women who were known for fighting for womens rights, decided they wanted an offical answer so they asked the Supreme Court if women, in section 24 of the British North American Act, were considered persons. Supreme Court saud that the word persons in the Act did not include women. The Famous Five took their question to the Privy Council in Britain. The council debated and discussed and after three months, they decided that the word persons included men and women.
